Dr Stuart Gunzburg has an extensive background in medical research. He has been involved in several start-up ventures covering a diverse range of applications including anti-cancer drug development, renewable fuel production, waste management system developments and technology applications in the explosives industry. Dr Gunzburg’s work on the nano-emulsion drug delivery technology is the foundation of the Company’s GlyXine© anti-viral drug formulation and will manage Virex’s clinical trial program.
Rolee Kumar has worked in the health and medical sector for over 20 years. She is passionate about translating research to the community. She co-founded a biopharmaceutical company, taking it from seed funding to listing it on the ASX where it reached market capitalisation of circa $100 million under her guidance. Ms Kumar has worked with start-ups and entrepreneurs in the medtech sector. She has significant experience in managing intellectual property, commercialisation, negotiating and closing deals with biotech/ pharmaceutical companies, organisational strategy and capital raising.
Laurie Ziatas is a Senior Australian Lawyer, businessman, Barrister and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Western Australia, with over 40 years’ experience in Business and the Law. Mr Ziatas has created, advised and held a variety of positions in numerous and diverse enterprises and industries both nationally and internationally.

West Australian clinical professor, gastroenterologist and Nobel Laureate. Professor Marshall is a pioneer researcher responsible for the most significant medical discovery in the history of gastroenterology. He has been a Fellow of the Australian Academy of Science since 1999 and was made a companion in the General Division of the Order of Australia (AC) in 2007. Professor Marshall is a Clinical Professor and Co-Director of the Marshall Centre for Infectious Diseases Research and Training, at the University of Western Australia in Perth.
An internationally renowned lung and respiratory disease specialist. Professor Thompson’s main clinical interests are asthma, allergy, complex
airway disease and rare lung diseases. He is Director of the Lung Health Clinic Hollywood Hospital and Head of the Bronchiectasis and Rare Disease Clinic at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital Perth. He was previously the Director and Founder of the Institute for Respiratory Health where he also ran the Molecular Genetics and Inflammation Unit. He is a previous President of the Thoracic Society of Australia and NZ. He has over 320 publications in peer-reviewed journals including in Nature, Nature Genetics, NEJM, Lancet & Lancet Respiratory. He has carried out and designed over 350 clinical trials from pre-clinical to phase one through to phase four trials for respiratory medicines.
